Things I love about Apple Tree Resort and Hotel

I've been to Apple Tree resort and Hotel for many times now. Their rejuvenation and shifting gears paved way to great things to come. As I look excitingly forward to their new offers and surprises, let me share what I enjoyed from their hospitality.

The beach

Of course, a resort is not a resort without the beach.

Macalajar Bay
Even though that it is a public domain, they have detailed security for clients' safety.

Swimming Pools

There are times that the waves are not good. There are times also that we don't want the salty water, that is why it is tempting to be on the pool.

Infinity Pool
They have two swimming pools. I like the infinity pool because its not too deep and not too shallow, that's 3 feet to 5 feet. There is a lifeguard on duty too.

Their seafood and everything grilled are superb! oh so yummy!!!! and I also recommend their best seller, Maruya with Langka Sauce.

Maruya with Langka Sauce
Breaded banana fritters that is so crunchy and (not so) sweet. Together with the jackfruit sauce makes it a very good tandem. How I wish they will offer the sauce in jars.

Clean and Spacious Rooms

They have Three Room Class : Deluxe; Lanai; and Suite.

Leticia Suite
All rooms have: fully-furnished and fully-air conditioned; mini-fridge (except deluxe); hot and cold shower complete with basic toiletries (and dental kits for suite rooms); 32 inch Flat Screen Cable TV; Wi-Fi; and my personal favorite, the coffee-making facility - coffee, cups, electric kettle.

I'll be sharing what's inside the rooms in a few days.

Courteous, Friendly and Accommodating Staff

Every guest are well-pampered with their smiles, sweet voices and prompt service from the moment they step in until they bid good byes. I never hesitate to ask for their assistance.

Front Desk

So every time I seek tranquil time or bask on the beach and have a dip on the pool, I go to Apple Tree Resort and Hotel.

A Quick Chat with Ms.Global 2014 2nd Runner Up Catherine Almirante

Ms. Catherine Marie Almirante was our representative for Miss Global 2014 which was held in Mexico last December 2014 and brought home the 2nd runner up crown. She went back home in Cagayan de Oro City for a victory homecoming, a courtesy call to the City Mayor, did some photo shoots and endorsements, and of course some tours for rest and recreation.

Before she goes back to Manila for her studies, I had the chance to met her in Lifestyle District for a quick interview and photo opp. This opportunity was possible with the help of a Facebook friend - and I call him CDO's resident Missosologist - Mr. Jan Paasa.

Since this is a quick chat - while waiting for her ride to the airport - here are some of the things we talked about.

She is a Psychology student in Makati City. She paused for awhile in her studies to perform her duties as Miss Global Philippines 2014 and now as Miss Global 2014 2nd runner up.

Miss Global 2014 Pageant Experiences

She traveled alone for the pageant but she assured me that she is used to in traveling alone. She traveled by air, land and sea and she enjoyed it with any travel sickness.

She made friends with her co-contestants and until now she chats and talks to them.

Responsibilities as Miss Global 2014

She and her court are engaged in environmental protection, they even became the Department of Environment and Natural Resources' Ambassadress.

Commercial Modeling and endorsements for products and services.

Things that the public will look up to

We will see her more often during the summer and Kagay-an Higalaay Festival. It is also in the works and talks to make Cagayan de Oro host national pageants.

Green Living for Smart Condominium Residents

Yega Development Corporation- developer of Smart Condominium in Pueblo de Oro Township, Cagayan de Oro City- is giving free electricity to its residents. Smart Condominium has its own solar panels for its electrical needs. As of this date, it has a 3000 watts solar power system installed by its sister company Sunday Solar System.

One key feature of Smart Condominium is "Technology meant to serve you". Wherein this condominium have high-tech features and future-ready installations like High-speed internet, HD Cable TV, smart security doors and this solar power systems.

This solar panel took up only 12 square meters and can provide enough electricity to power up 2 to 3 electric irons or about 150 units of 20w lighting fixtures. If I'll based that on our own consumption, it can power up our laptops, router, TV &  electric fan while charging our gadgets. That's all for free thanks to the power of the sun.

Saving electricity cost and saving the environment thanks to solar power.

For more information about Smart Condominium and Sunday Solar Systems, visit them in SM City Cagayan de Oro.
